Jackie Owens has been our Country Natural Beef Coordinator for the past 7 years. While she claimed to be “not interesting enough” for a spotlight, we disagree and believe her work ethic and dedication to producing quality beef deserves to be highlighted!
Jackie’s roots in the community and cattle business run deep from growing up on a cow/calf operation in Hereford, Oregon. She attended University of Idaho and graduated with a bachelor’s degree studying Animal Science and Agricultural Business. During her sophomore year of college, she spent a summer interning at the Boardman feed yard. Following graduation from U of I, she worked for Idaho Extension Beef Quality assurance program. When Country Natural Beef was looking to hire for a production coordinator, Jackie was the perfect fit and returned to our team in 2011.
Today her work includes managing live cattle inventory for our various grow yard and pasture operations. She also helps with certifications for Country Natural Beef. Coordinating with progressive ranchers and working within the wide range of the cattle industry from cow/calf operators to harvest facilities is her favorite part of the job. In the office, you can usually find her on the phone consulting with our customers.
Jackie is grateful to carry on ranching tradition at home with her other half Mike and son Thomas. On weekends or after work hours she spends her time running hay equipment, riding range, and doing whatever needs to get done for their growing cow herd. On the rare occasions when the ranch work is finished, she likes to participate in a roping event now and then.
